FlyChip turns 10!

FlyChip, a core Drosophila microarray facility within the Cambridge Systems Biology Centre, is celebrating its 10th birthday this week.

The group was started by Steve Russell with BBSRC Investigating Gene Function Initiative funding, and is currently run on a cost recovery basis by a dedicated team in the Russell group. Since starting, FlyChip have printed around 10,000 arrays (a hundred million spots!) and helped many UK fly groups with genomics studies. More recently, we have developed core technologies for small-sample ChIP array studies, and published a book (Microarray Technology In Practice) consolidating our experimental and analytical experience.
