Glasgow’s Miles Better?

A top night of Glaswegian music from Mogwai & Twilight Sad (see below) in Brixton on Friday night – hmmm tasty!

Twilight Sad

Splendid Twilight Sad performance at the Haymakers last night – the spirit of Jesus and the Mary Chain lives on!   The lads are playing with Mogwai (another of Scotland’s finest) at the Brixton Academy later this month.  Promises to be excellent.

2 in a day!

Remarkably David and Sang’s homing endonuclease paper was also accepted yesterday – 2 acceptances in the same day, I feel quite faint 🙂

Well done Sang and David.

Richard Departs

After over 10 years, Richard, our arraying guru, is moving on to pastures new.  No more beating robots into submission!  Lunch at the Sports & Social 12:00 Friday

Thanks Richard and good luck.

Ubx/hth paper accepted

After a struggle, Lawrence’s Ubx/hth binding paper has been accepted in PLoSONE.  Link to follow.

Lawrence Defends thesis

Congratulations to Lawrence for successfully defending his thesis.  Well Done Lad!

Lisa Departs

Lisa joined FlyChip at the beginning and was one of the experimental driving forces behind our microarray efforts.  It’s fair to say that without her energy and enthusiasm we would never have been as successful as a microarray group.  Many thanks to Lisa and best wishes in the new job.

Lab lunch on Thursday the 10th to wish her a fond farewell, meet at the Centre at 1:00pm
